The Suburban Collection has launched the Great Charity Giveaway, an initiative to give away $25,000 in donations to local charities. Metro Detroit charities submitted entries, and now it's up to customers and friends of The Suburban Collection to vote for their favorite charity!
"Charitable giving has been a part of the Suburban Collection culture for more than 60 years," said David Fischer, chairman and C.E.O., The Suburban Collection. "Each year we support more than 80 charities in greater Detroit. The Great Charity Giveaway gives our customers and friends in the community an opportunity to be part of the process, a chance to choose the charities to receive the next donations."
Along with an application, each charity also submitted a short essay stating what they could do with the top donation of $10,000 to benefit Metro Detroit communities. The response was amazing. Many charities would be able to begin larger programs, expand facilities, and help more children, adults, and animals in the community. There are so many charities in the community that are making a big difference in the lives of many.
Now it's up to supporters, friends, and family to vote!
Beginning August 10th - August 24th the first round of voting begins. You will be able to vote for up to 10 charities. Each vote will tell us where you would like to see charitable donations go to. August 26th - August 31st will begin Round 2 voting, to choose the Top 3 charities!
Charities with the most "likes" will be awarded donations. The charity with the most "likes" will receive $10,000; second place will receive $5,000. Third place receives $3,000, and the next seven runner-up charities receive $1,000 each. Winners will be announced September 1.
