2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E Brings Electric Performance to the World-Famous Pony Car

Automotive performance is advancing rapidly, and Ford is keeping pace with the introduction of its all-electric 2021 Mustang Mach-E.

For more than five decades, the Ford Mustang has been one of the leading nameplates for American sports cars. Over those decades, Ford has brought the Mustang quite a long way in terms of engineering and performance. Now that Ford is running up on the limits of internal combustion technology, it's turning to electric power for further advances.

The 2021 Mustang Mach-E is the result of that shift in focus to electric power. You can get your Mustang Mach-E with either a standard 75.7 kWh battery pack or a 98.8 kWh battery pack for extended range. You can also choose between rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. Its electric motor is good for up to 459 horsepower and 612 pound-feet of torque. According to Ford, properly equipped Mustang Mach-E models can accelerate from zero to 60 mph in under four seconds. The new Mustang Mach-E also offers excellent range. With the right configuration, the model can go up to 300 miles between charges.

However, you'll likely notice some differences beyond just the electric powertrain. Rather than the two-door coupe design of the traditional gas-powered Mustang models, the Mustang Mach-E shifts to a four-door crossover body style. The shape may be different, but you'll see that classic Mustang styling cues are incorporated throughout.

Ford says that the new Mustang Mach-E will be available to purchase in early 2021. Until then, you can look forward to learning more about the innovative electric vehicle as news comes out.
