TROY, Mich., July 9, 2018— The Suburban Collection, Michigan’s largest dealer body group, today announced the launch of Suburban Drives Michigan, a 10-episode unscripted online video series that explores the people and positives of Metro Detroit and Michigan, told through the lens of local personalities while driving unique vehicles.

What drives Michigan? That’s the question the show’s host, Los Angeles-based Writer/Director Jeffrey Phelps, asks guests comprised of celebrities, local leaders and people who matter to Michigan, including (in order of program appearance):
  • Jim Harbaugh (Head Football Coach for U-M) – Dodge Demon
  • Katie Betzing (YouTube Star) – Lamborghini Huracan
  • James Robertson (The Walking Man) – Ford F-150 Raptor
  • Brad Oleshansky (Founder & CEO of M1 Concourse) – 1958 Mercedes
  • Chuck Bennett (The Style Guru of Detroit) – Bentley Flying Spur
  • Ron Kagan (CEO of the Detroit Zoo) – 2018 Fiat Spyder
  • Anne Parsons (CEO of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra) – Ford Explorer Platinum
  • Bob Loken (Oakland County Sheriff's Deputy) – Chevrolet Tahoe
  • Dave Lorenz (Vice President-Travel Michigan at Michigan Economic Development Corporation) – Ford Mustang
  • Kevin Nether (The Tech Ninja on YouTube) – Chevy Bolt and BMW i3
“My family has called Michigan home for generations. We love this state along with the people and places that make it so special to live and work in,” said David Fischer, Jr., President and COO, The Suburban Collection. “This new, online programming pays tribute to that. We couldn’t be more pleased that such wonderful people have agreed to help us tell those tales.”
Suburban Drives Michigan, in fact, finds the nuance, joy and depth in each of the guests’ lives. And it’s not just about driving—in each episode, Phelps manages to delve into new local experiences, including police K-9 training, skydiving over Tecumseh and doing a donut on the The Big House’s fifty-yard line with Harbaugh.
Fischer, Jr. added, “For years we’ve been trying to convince my stepbrother, Jeff, to make the move to our state. Through this series, we hope to compel him and others to fully realize that there’s no place like Michigan.”
Season one episodes will be available every other Monday beginning July 9 at and on The Suburban Collection’s official YouTube channel. Subscribe to get notified of new episodes.
